Vietnam temporarily halts the requirement for Covid-19 testing for incoming travelers from May 15th at 0:00, following the Prime Minister's directive.
From May 15th, Vietnam ceases COVID-19 testing for incoming travelers.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has issued Circular No. 416 / CĐ-TTg on May 13, 2022, from the Prime Minister regarding the temporary suspension of the requirement to test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus before entering Vietnam.
The circular specifies: According to the World Health Organization's announcement, the COVID-19 pandemic is starting to decrease both in the number of cases and deaths globally; basic disease prevention vaccines remain effective against variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Many countries and territories have gradually relaxed epidemic prevention measures, including COVID-19 testing requirements for incoming travelers.
In Vietnam, after a period of vigorous and coordinated implementation of epidemic prevention measures, safe, flexible, and effective COVID-19 epidemic control measures have yielded positive results. The number of new domestically transmitted cases has continuously decreased from March 15, 2022, until now, with a low number of severe cases and deaths related to COVID-19, and a high coverage rate of COVID-19 vaccines. In this context, the Ministry of Health has issued a directive to suspend health declarations for incoming travelers to Vietnam from April 27, 2022.
To ensure the effective implementation of disease prevention measures and facilitate the promotion of economic and social recovery activities in line with the Government's resolutions, the Prime Minister instructs:
1. Temporarily suspend the requirement for SARS-CoV-2 virus testing before entry into Vietnam from 00:00 on May 15, 2022. The Ministry of Health closely monitors the disease situation and timely guides appropriate prevention and control measures.
2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs directs Vietnam's overseas agencies to inform individuals intending to enter Vietnam to adhere to the disease prevention and control requirements as guided by the Ministry of Health.
3. The Ministry of Transport directs airlines to implement disease prevention and control measures on transportation vehicles as guided by the Ministry of Health.
4. Chairpersons of the People's Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities strictly implement disease prevention and control measures in their localities as guided by the Ministry of Health and relevant ministries and sectors.
5. Require Ministers, Heads of Ministerial-level agencies, Government-affiliated agencies, Chairpersons of People's Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities to continue to focus on directing the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures; regularly inspect, promptly handle issues within their jurisdiction, or report to competent authorities as prescribed.
