The hardware and software statistics for August from Steam have just been released, revealing that the usage percentage of Windows 11 on this platform has grown to almost 24% (23.78%). Windows 10 still holds a significant share at 69.06%, despite a decrease of 4.11%.In August alone, the usage percentage of Windows 11 witnessed a 2.66% increase. Just two months ago, this figure was around 20%, with a growth rate of 1.65%, as reported in the June survey. The current growth is indeed promising.Windows 11 introduces a plethora of gaming-centric features, enhancing the gaming community experience with DirectStorage, DirectX12 Ultimate, and Auto HDR. With 7 years of development, Windows 10 still boasts a substantial user base, and current game titles continue to provide excellent support for the platform. The robust support for Windows 10 remains a compelling reason for many to hesitate in upgrading.Interestingly, Windows 7 sees a surprising growth of 0.65%, reaching 2.60% compared to the previous month. Its market share on Steam surpasses the combined macOS versions, adding a unique twist to the ongoing operating system dynamics.
In Steam's August statistics, spanning from March, Intel claims the majority of CPU usage at 67.72%, while AMD holds 32.28%. As for GPUs, NVIDIA maintains its lead with 76.21%, AMD follows with 14.67%, and Intel secures the third spot with 8.92%.
