Creating a Reverse City with Photoshop
Step 1: Start by creating a new file in Photoshop. Go to File in the Menu bar > New or use the shortcut Ctrl +N.
Step 2: Now, begin inserting the landscape image you want into the workspace area. Before insertion, make sure to gather the necessary image resources. Then, insert the image by selecting File in the toolbar > Place Embeded. Once the image appears on the workspace, adjust it to fit the frame. Position the image at the bottom half of the workspace frame as shown in the example below.
Step 3: Next, continue inserting the city image into the workspace. Apply the same steps as in the previous step to insert the city image.
Step 4: Now, separate the buildings from the image by selecting the Selection Tool (or press shortcut key W) > then hover the mouse over the buildings and press the shortcut keys Ctrl + J to duplicate it.
After successful duplication, remember to delete the city image you inserted as shown below.
Step 5: First, select the city layer > then press the shortcut keys Ctrl + T > right-click and choose Flip Vertical to reverse the city.
Step 6: Now, adjust the frame color by selecting the city layer, then choose the icon as shown below.
Then, press select Curves to proceed with adjusting the color of the image.
After selecting Curves, a vector table will appear. You need to adjust that vector table as shown below.
Step 7: Now, let's continue by adding more human images to make the product more lively. On the toolbar, choose File > Place Embeded and select an image with people like this.
Then, separate the human image using the Pen Tool by outlining around the person > press the shortcut keys Ctrl + Enter to select the area > press Ctrl + J to duplicate the selected person's image.
Step 8: Now, adjust the color for the person to fit the frame by creating a Clipping Mask layer as shown below.
Step 9: Next, select a soft Brush from the toolbar, adjust the color mode and blur as shown in the image, then paint over the person to make them blend better with the scenery.
After applying, we get the result as shown in the image below.
Step 10: In this final step, you'll create a gloomy, misty effect for the city by adding clouds.
Continue to create a Clipping Mask for the cloud layer then use a soft Brush to blend the cloud color to match the frame as you did above. And here is the final result we get.
