Situated in Bang Ca commune, Hoanh Bo district, Stone Stack Mountain boasts a truly unique formation with dozens of stacked rock slabs, steeply ascending hundreds of meters high, with narrow contact points between slabs measuring only about one square meter.
Stone Stack Mountain: Quang Ninh's Unique Natural Wonder

Stone Stack Mountain is intertwined with legends and landmarks such as Khe Mung, Khe Lieu, and the Phoenix Mountain. In ancient times, a celestial general led his army through this region, traveling a long distance without finding water. It wasn't until they reached the area of present-day Stone Stack Mountain that they discovered a small stream.

Delighted, he ordered the troops to halt, but due to the large number of soldiers and the narrow, elongated stream, he used his hands to widen the stream to ensure there was enough water for everyone. Engrossed in his task, the stream overflowed, soaking his clothes. He took off his armor to dry and used a pole to hang it across the two peaks of Stone Stack Mountain and Dai Stone Mountain.

However, because the peak of Stone Stack Mountain was lower than that of Dai Stone Mountain, he collected rocks to place on the summit to balance both sides before hanging the pole to dry his clothes. This stream became known as Khe Mung, and the mountain where he hung his pole to dry his clothes was called Stone Stack Mountain.

To enjoy the panoramic view of Stone Stack Mountain, tourists can travel to Bang Ca commune and then take a boat across the lake, stopping at Khe Mung before hiking to the summit. For those who enjoy adventure and conquering heights, they can overcome the Lion's Rock range to reach the peak of the mountain.

Here, a sea of clouds often appears around the mountain, embracing the entire pine forest surrounding Yen Lap Lake. Sitting at an altitude of over 400m above sea level, the unique beauty of Stone Stack Mountain becomes an attractive destination.

To explore Stone Stack Mountain, travelers should equip themselves with full life jackets and floaties; prepare food and drinks. It is especially important to have a local guide and absolutely avoid climbing to the top of the rock formations, as this is very dangerous for any traveler.
