According to MacRumors, Apple is grappling with a series of troubles and malfunctions on the iPhone X. Following issues like green lines, GPS problems, and unresponsive screens in cold weather, the iPhone X is now entangled with a speaker-related glitch.
As per user complaints, turning up the volume on the iPhone X results in distorted and crackling sounds from the front-facing speakers, whether listening to music, watching videos, or making phone calls.
User ShadowYYZ shared the issue on MacRumors forums, saying, 'As an iPhone X enthusiast, I don't know what's happening with the device's speakers. There is distortion when I turn up the volume while listening to music, and even my iTunes Store-purchased ringtone has the issue.'
No Response from Apple Yet
It appears not all users encounter this issue; it depends on the iOS 11 version installed on their devices. The iPhone X, released two weeks ago, comes with iOS 11.0.1 by default, even though Apple recently released iOS 11.1.1 with various enhancements.
The speakers on the iPhone X are doubled to deliver stereo sound combined with the bottom speaker. iPhone X users may hope this is a software glitch rather than a hardware issue; otherwise, many iPhone X owners might have to send their faulty components to Apple for replacement.
Apple has not taken any action on this matter yet. However, this is not the first time; not long ago, some iPhone 8 and 8 Plus users faced a similar issue with headphones during calls. Apple acknowledged this and addressed the problem in the iOS 11.0.2 update.
Additionally, we can't overlook lesser-known features of the iPhone X, such as the trick to wake the screen by enabling Tap to Wake on iPhone X. Essentially, turning on Tap to Wake on iPhone X is similar to the double-tap screen wake feature on Android devices, introduced long ago.
