We often use the On-Screen Keyboard on a laptop when we prefer not to use the physical keyboard. Another common scenario is when some keys on the laptop keyboard are not functioning. To avoid replacing the entire laptop keyboard, users need to use the On-Screen Keyboard to type those keys. However, some users accidentally enable the virtual keyboard to start with Windows, causing unnecessary hassle. With just a few simple steps, you can disable the virtual keyboard on a laptop and prevent the On-Screen Keyboard from starting with the computer quickly.
How to disable the virtual keyboard on a laptop:
Step 1: On your computer interface, press the Windows key or click Start. Choose Control Panel.
Step 2: Proceed to Ease of Access.
Step 3: Continue by pressing Ease of Access Center.
Step 4: Here, scroll down, find Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard, and click on it.
Step 5: Take note of the checkmark for Use On-Screen Keyboard. Press to remove that checkmark.
Step 6: After unchecking Use On-Screen Keyboard, immediately press Apply and OK.
That's it, you have completely disabled the virtual keyboard on your laptop. Restart Windows, and you won't see the On-Screen Keyboard anymore.
Another keyboard-related trick that you may need to use at times is disabling the keyboard using KeyboardLock. It's not difficult for users to utilize KeyboardLock and disable the keyboard with KeyboardLock. The functionality of KeyboardLock is so effective that not only can others not operate the keyboard on your computer, but even turning on the On-Screen Keyboard won't allow them to type.
