By default, based on the initial settings, a computer with Windows 10 or versions 7, 8, and 8.1 will have this feature on or off. Activating or deactivating this feature is quite straightforward, empowering you to protect your account more effortlessly.
Activate or deactivate login requests using Ctrl + Alt + Del on Windows 10
For all the guides below, to activate or deactivate the Ctrl-Alt-Del login feature, users just need to do the opposite.
Method 1: Utilizing User Account Settings
Step 1: Press the Start key > type or paste the command: netplwiz and press Enter. Alternatively, you can press the Windows + R key combination to open the Run dialog, enter the command as mentioned, or type: Control Userpasswords2, then press Enter to open the User Account Management tool.
Step 2: Navigate to the Advanced tab. In the Advanced tab, simply check the Require users to press Ctrl-Alt-Del option.

Step 2: Navigate to the following path:

Ensure you find the correct directory along the specified path.
Step 3: Double-click on the DisableCAD key. Then, set the Value data to 0. Exit and restart your computer to save the changes.
Method 3: Using Local Group Policy Editor
Step 1: Press the Windows + R key combination > enter gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor. Alternatively, click the Start button > type Local Security Policy and click the search result icon to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
Note that for Windows 10 Home Edition, users won't be able to open the Local Group Policy Editor directly and need to use supporting tools to access it.
Step 2: In the Local Group Policy Editor, follow the path: Computer Configuration > Windows settings > Security settings > Local policies > Security option.
Step 3: In the right Policy window, locate the Interactive logon:Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL item, then double-click on that option. Choose Disable to activate the Ctrl-Alt-Del login requirement on Windows 10. If you wish to deactivate this requirement, simply select Enabled.
Press Apply > OK to save all changes.
