The Facebook social media platform is widely used in Vietnam by many young people and individuals. However, it is often misused for personal purposes such as selling products and disseminating false information. Such posts significantly impact the user experience, especially for those who use Facebook for entertainment and information. In such cases, you can add those who share harmful information to the restricted list to prevent their posts from appearing on the News feed. To block or limit posts from certain users, you must set it up on a computer, as it is not currently supported on mobile devices.
Limiting someone's Facebook posts will help refine your news feed, avoiding salesy and spammy content.
Step 1: Access your personal Facebook homepage and select More => Settings & Privacy.
Step 2: Next, choose the Settings section to access Facebook account settings on your computer.
The Restricted List is a two-way management feature, meaning both you and the other party cannot see each other's posts (including: shared posts, status updates, images...) on the news feed. However, the posts will still be visible if you directly visit the profile. This is considered a streamlined version of 'Block,' where 'Block' permanently hides both parties from each other, while 'Restrict' allows visibility when visiting the personal profile.
Step 4: To add everyone to the Restricted List, switch to the Friends filter. At this point, your entire friends list will be displayed on the screen as follows.
Step 5: After selecting the people you want to add to the Restricted List, simply press Finish to start. At this point, both individuals will not receive each other's posts on the news feed.
If you wish to remove someone from the Restricted List, just choose the On This List (1) filter and select Remove from List (2).
