With version 4.0 of Genshin Impact, miHoYo has introduced 5 more new weapons in the Traveler's Log, aimed at players who have reached level 30 and purchased the premium version. However, since these are new weapons, they have to compete with the 'old ones,' and the differences in stats can make it hard to determine which item is worth the money you have to spend. Let Mytour help you!

Wolf's Fang
A newly introduced 4-star single-handed sword in Genshin Impact's 4.0 Traveler's Log boasts the following stats at level 90:
- Base Attack: 510
- Critical Rate: 27.6%
- Effect - North Wind's Howl: Elemental Skill and Burst damage increased by 16%-32%. When Elemental Skill hits an opponent, Elemental Skill CRIT Rate increases by 2%-4%; when Burst hits an opponent, Burst CRIT Rate increases by 2%-4%. These effects are maintained separately for 10s, stacking up to 4 times, with each 0.1s able to trigger once.

This weapon proves formidable for DPS warriors reliant on elemental skill or burst damage. However, its effect cannot activate if the wielder leaves the battlefield. Therefore, characters with frequent bursts benefit the most: Keqing, Ayaka, Alhaitham, Kaeya. Meanwhile, others like Lynette, Xingqiu, Kaeya can also leverage Wolf's Fang's effect if positioned for battle.
Narrow Chant of the Bay
A newly introduced 4-star polearm in Genshin Impact's 4.0 Traveler's Log features the following stats at level 90:
- Base Attack: 510
- Critical Rate: 27.6%
- Effect – Frosty Saga: When there are at least 3 characters of different elements in the team, Elemental Mastery increases by 120-240 points.

Once again, another weapon for the 'pyro princess' Xiangling? Pretty close. Its direct rival is the Crescent Pike, which provides more attack, but the advantage of the Narrow Chant of the Bay lies in its substantial Elemental Mastery stats, suitable for characters needing EM rather than attack. However, Xiangling must be a reaction-based character, and without Bennett, you'll need to find additional energy elsewhere to leverage this weapon's effect.
Therefore, the most suitable character for the Narrow Chant of the Bay is none other than Hu Tao. She typically needs Xingqiu, Yanfei, plus 1 or 2 Geo characters. Cyno in a team focused on Amplifying or Blossoming + Growth will also appreciate it.
Jade Offering
A 4-star catalyst from Genshin Impact's 4.0 Traveler's Log features the following stats at level 90:
- Base Attack: 454
- Critical Rate: 36.8%
- Effect – Jade Energy Transfer: If not on the field for over 5s, HP limit increases by 32%-64%, Elemental Mastery increases by 40-80 points. This effect is canceled after the wielder has been on the field for 10s.

No one can wield this catalyst effectively in version 4.0; catalyst characters typically can only utilize 2 out of its 3 stats (crit rate, HP, EM). Moreover, it faces a formidable rival in the Wandering Troubadour. Long-time players often possess this catalyst at high refinement levels, and despite its somewhat random buff effects and lengthy downtime, it remains potent.
If you've been following Mytour's articles on Genshin Impact, you'll easily recognize this weapon as one designed for Neuvilette in patch 4.1 - the Fontaine adjudicator is a % HP damage dealer with skills that constantly fluctuate HP. Wriothesley can also trigger the Jade Energy Transfer effect, but its attack stat is too low, and this character doesn't require HP.

A 4-star bow from Genshin Impact's 4.0 Traveler's Log features the following stats at level 90:
- Base Attack: 565
- Critical Rate: 18.4%
- Effect - Sunfire's Path: After a charged shot hits an opponent, a Sun Arrow descends upon the opponent, dealing damage equal to 60%-120% of attack. Additionally, it triggers the Burnished Heart effect, lasting 10s on the opponent hit by the Sun Arrow. Damage from the wielder's charged attacks on opponents under the effect of Burnished Heart increases by 28%-56%. The Sun Arrow can only trigger once every 10s.

Apart from fans of the Korean series of the same name, this bow is also a fantastic weapon for bow users who enjoy charging their shots - namely Ganyu, Tartaglia, and Fischl. However, it's worth noting that the Sunfire's Path effect is single-target, so only one enemy receives additional damage. While useful against bosses, its value diminishes when facing multiple foes.
Staff of Arbitration
In terms of appearance, this is clearly an upgraded version of the Staff of Homa, but it offers vastly different stats:
- Base Attack: 565
- Critical Rate: 18.4%
- Effect - Shrewd Mouth: For 15s when affected by Pyro, attack increases by 16%-32%, triggering once every 12s; For 15s when affected by Hydro, Cryo, Electro, or Dendro, elemental damage increases by 12%-24%, triggering once every 12s.

Activating the Shrewd Mouth effect of the Staff of Arbitration is somewhat challenging in version 4.0. To increase attack, you need to stand within Xinyan or Bennett's Elemental Burst, then have a character like Kokomi, Barbara, Dori, Diona, or Kirara to trigger the elemental damage increase effect. Of course, you can rely on enemies to apply the effects, but it's unreliable and often requires a shield character to avoid sudden deaths in Spiral Abyss. Therefore, this weapon is not worth obtaining, at least not at the current time.
But the main reason we don't choose the Staff of Arbitration is... the Primordial Jade Cutter. This 5-star sword from the Traveler's Log since patch 1.0 remains incredibly powerful with its simple yet brutal effect of +50% damage at refinement 5. It even outperforms some 5-star weapons in certain situations, so if you don't have a R5 Primordial Jade Cutter, prioritize obtaining this weapon first. Perhaps in the future, we'll have a character better suited to the Staff of Arbitration.
