Perched on the slopes of Dien Tien Mountain, although only about 5km from the center of Duong Dong town, visiting Sư Muôn Pagoda gives tourists the feeling of entering a different world with abundant nature and solemn atmosphere.
Sư Muôn Pagoda – Ancient Spiritual Temple in Phu Quoc
From the triple gate, ascending the winding mountain path for about 1km leads to Sư Muôn Pagoda. To reach the main hall, visitors have to climb an additional 60 stone steps, each step symbolizing the profound meaning of the cycle of life (sixty-year cycle).
Surrounding the pagoda are lush green trees, creating a serene atmosphere for visitors. In front of the pagoda stands a statue of Guanyin seated on a lotus, flanked by two naturally shaped stone blocks resembling “dragons worshiping, tigers submitting”. Looking down from here, one can see the lush green grasslands and ecological pepper gardens.
The main hall is constructed in a folk architectural style, built on a 3m high stone foundation, and adorned simply with statues of the Buddha and various Bodhisattvas. In front of the “great dragon treasure hall” are two powerful dragons embracing the pillars, symbolizing the name of the pagoda “Hùng Long tự” (Brave Dragon Pagoda).
