If you want to save time and explore new destinations, a journey to Hong Kong combined with visits to Shenzhen and Guangzhou will provide you with many memorable experiences.
Suggested 5D4N Itinerary for Traveling to Hong Kong – Shenzhen – Guangzhou from Saigon
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Depart to Hong Kong from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Upon arrival at Chek Lap Kok International Airport, take the opportunity to visit the first destination, the Tsing Ma Bridge. Built in 1997, it connects the two important islands of Hong Kong, Tsing Yi and Ma Wan. Ranked as the 7th longest suspension bridge globally, it features both railway and road lanes.

One of the must-visit places when you travel to Hong Kong is Victoria Peak, also known as Thái Bình Mountain. Rising 552 meters above Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula, it offers the ideal vantage point to admire the Victoria Harbour, Central district, and the Kowloon Peninsula with its iconic skyscrapers. To reach Victoria Peak, you can choose to take a bus or a tram (wooden trolley). Despite being over 120 years old, the tram still provides a fantastic experience of mountain climbing and sightseeing. Operating from 7 am to midnight, each trip is spaced 10 to 15 minutes apart.

For dinner, you can try Hong Kong's specialties like mixed hotpot (thập cẩm lẩu). True to its name, this hotpot features a myriad of ingredients such as shrimp, squid, chicken, beef, and fish balls. After fueling up for the evening, you can relax and shop in Mong Kok – one of the liveliest areas in Hong Kong with numerous famous markets, shopping streets, and shopping malls.
One of the most famous markets here is Ladies’ Market, with hundreds of stalls selling clothing, accessories, souvenirs, and more. Despite its name, Ladies Market is not just for women. Here, tourists can indulge in shopping for everything from high-end items to affordable ones, including clothing, handbags, cosmetics, and children's toys.

Day 2
In the morning, have breakfast at the hotel, then visit the 'Handover Gifts Museum of Dương Tử Kinh Square.' This is where the handover agreement for Hong Kong to China was signed in 1997. If you're lucky, you might witness the flag-raising ceremony at the square.

One of the unmissable attractions when traveling to Hong Kong is the Avenue of Stars. This place commemorates the contributions of famous names that helped Hong Kong become the 'Hollywood of the East.' The main attraction of this avenue is the star-shaped plaques with the names (in Chinese and English) of renowned Hong Kong film artists, along with their handprints and signatures. Almost every tourist in Hong Kong visits this place for sightseeing and memorable photos.

If you want to capture the essence of Hong Kong from a 360-degree perspective, Sky 100 is the perfect spot for you. Situated on the 100th floor, Sky 100 provides visitors with the highest viewpoint in the city. Encased in transparent glass, visitors can marvel at the panoramic views of Hong Kong. Beyond the scenic vistas, you can explore the history and culture of Hong Kong through the art exhibitions on display here.

Considered a symbol of faith in work and the desire for prosperity among the people of Hong Kong, Wong Tai Sin (Wong Tai Sin Temple) is a renowned and sacred destination not only for locals but also for tourists. The temple showcases ancient Chinese architectural elements with red wooden columns, curved double-tiered roofs, yin and yang-colored tiles, golden fences, and vibrant decorative details. After touring the temple, take some time to recharge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you can freely indulge in shopping or choose to visit one of the two famous attractions: Disneyland Hong Kong and Lantau Island. As one of the two largest theme parks in Hong Kong, Disneyland attracts visitors with various themed areas such as Main Street, U.S.A, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Toy Story Land, and more. Especially here, you'll encounter beloved animated characters in parades and witness fireworks displays on the rooftop of a fairytale castle.

Among approximately 230 islands under Hong Kong's administrative jurisdiction, Lantau Island is the largest. Once a fishing village, it has transformed into a thriving urban area. To reach here, travelers take the subway to Tung Chung Station, then ride the Ngong Ping 360 cable car for 25 minutes and climb 268 steps to the mountaintop. The island is famous for its large Buddha statue atop the mountain, attracting numerous Hong Kong travelers who pilgrimage here for prayers.

Day 3
After breakfast, embark on a journey to Guangzhou to explore Viet Tu Park. With a refreshing space filled with lush landscapes, the park resembles a cool natural painting amidst the modern city, providing a relaxing and comfortable environment for everyone. Notably, visiting Viet Tu Park gives you the chance to trace back through history with sites like Tran Hai Tower, Ming Dynasty Wall, and the Four Directions Fortress.

Afterwards, take the opportunity to shop on Beijing Road. If you're a shopping enthusiast, this is the ideal destination as all the famous fashion brands are concentrated here. You can combine dinner here and then return to the hotel to rest.

Day 4
Embark on a journey to Shenzhen to visit the Jade Museum. Commemorating 30 years of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, explore the historical 'Spring Story' and the glorious achievements of the special zone over 30 years. Afterward, you'll have lunch.
Continue to explore China Folk Culture Village, the first cultural-themed park in China. It's a miniature world of Chinese culture built on about 30 hectares with 120 smaller-scale models, harmoniously arranged amidst mountain and river scenery. What's interesting is that if you know how China's map looks, the landscape in 'China Folk Culture Village' looks exactly the same.

In the afternoon, enjoy impressive performances by ethnic minorities such as Oriental Charm and Phoenix Dance of China. Afterward, you can freely shop at Dongmen Market, famous for inexpensive clothing. Here, tourists can easily find affordable clothes. However, due to the high daily influx of people, it's advisable to pay attention to personal belongings to avoid pickpocketing.

Day 5
In the morning, have breakfast at the hotel, take a rest, check out of the hotel room. If you have time, seize the opportunity to buy some local specialties as gifts. Afterward, have lunch and take the train back to Hong Kong, boarding the flight back to Saigon. Concluding the 5D4N exploration of Hong Kong – Shenzhen – Guangzhou with many exciting experiences.
