Suggested Itinerary for 3 Days, 2 Nights to Explore Nam Du Island: Where to Eat, Where to Stay, and What to Do?
When is the best time to visit Nam Du Island?
March to May is the optimal time to visit Nam Du Island. During this period, the sea is calm, the water is crystal clear, and the weather is pleasantly mild, characterized by sunny days with no rain. Spending 3 days and 2 nights on Nam Du Island allows for comprehensive exploration and enjoyment of the trip.

Transportation Options:
- To reach Nam Du Island, you need to go to Rạch Giá Bus Station (Kiên Giang). I chose Phương Trang sleeper bus, departing at 11:00 PM from Mien Tay Bus Station. Arriving at Rạch Giá Bus Station around 4:00 AM, then taking a shuttle bus to Rạch Giá pier.
Note: It's advisable to book Phương Trang bus tickets about 5-6 days in advance, especially on weekends when tickets tend to sell out quickly.
Phương Trang bus ticket price: 320,000 VND/round trip/person.

- Rạch Giá pier opens at 6:00 AM, I chose the high-speed boat of Phú Quốc Express for a 2-hour journey to Nam Du Island. Ticket price for the boat: 500,000 VND/round trip/person.

- Transportation on the island: You can rent a motorbike at your guesthouse or homestay, ranging from 100,000 to 120,000 VND/day, to explore around the island or visit beaches such as Mến Beach, Trệt Beach, Cỏ Beach, Đất Đỏ Beach, etc.
Where to stay when visiting Nam Du island?
For this trip, I chose Humiso Nam Du located near the beach. Here, you have plenty of room options to choose from. The room I stayed in was a seaside wooden bungalow, priced at 800k/night for 2 people. What could be more wonderful than waking up in a distant place, witnessing the sunrise in serene, cool bungalows, and checking in with beautiful photos for the new day.

What to do on Nam Du island?
Mến Beach
For me, Mến Beach is my favorite spot, it's one of the beautiful and unspoiled beaches of Nam Du island. Mến Beach resembles a small bay with smooth white sandy shores, tall coconut trees, and azure waters creating a romantic and airy scenery. Don't miss the chance to admire the stunning sunset and sunrise here.

Charter a Boat to Explore Nam Du Island
I decided to spend a full day at sea to experience the life of coastal residents. After some research, I opted to rent Aunt Hai's boat. The timing and the range of activities for a day were more comfortable. Aunt Hai has 2 boats, a large wooden boat and a smaller one for fishing. The large boat can accommodate around 10 – 15 people. The smaller boat I rented can fit 5 people, priced at approximately 1.2 – 1.6 million VND/day. For me, the price was quite reasonable.

In the morning, Aunt Hai picked us up and took us to explore the islands, and she even cooked lunch for the whole group. In the afternoon, Aunt Hai took us snorkeling, catching sea cucumbers and shells, and she cooked us an afternoon meal on the boat. What could be better than snorkeling, enjoying delicious hot sea cucumber porridge? Aunt Hai and her husband were very enthusiastic, cheerful, and affectionate, providing unforgettable experiences.

Mau Island
When visiting Nam Du Island, you must visit Mau Island, which is about 200 hectares wide with many households living here. Most of the islanders are fishermen, so when you come here, you'll see the bustling scene of netting under the house eaves. Here, you can capture Instagram-worthy backgrounds like hammocks, swings, and piers.

Hon Ngang is situated in the center of Nam Du commune, where there is a port attracting many boats, skiffs, and fishing boats moored. Hon Ngang boasts a pristine beach with gentle waves lapping onto smooth white sand. The beach is peaceful and clean. Peculiarly shaped rocks stacked atop each other create a lively and peculiar natural landscape.

What to Eat on Nam Du Island?
Seafood here is inexpensive. You can buy and have it prepared for you. Seafood restaurants line the road from the pier. So, you can dine at any of them. When you're here, you must try the delicious grilled sea cucumbers, stir-fried garlic mantis shrimp,... Don't forget to enjoy the fragrant and refreshing tamarind juice.

Total cost: For this trip, I spent about 2 million to 2.5 million VND per person (including transportation, food, accommodation, and activities).
