1. Summary of the excerpt from the short story Human Destiny, model 1:
After the war ended, Xocolop was discharged but didn't want to return home. He went to see an old comrade and asked to become a driver for a transportation team. There, he met the orphan boy Vania, who had lost both his parents in the war. Immediately, he decided to take Vania as his own child. The innocent boy believed Xocolop was his biological father. Xocolop loved and cared for the boy affectionately, considering him his great joy and solace. However, he was still haunted by immense losses during the war. Every night, he dreamed of his wife and children, waking up with tears soaking his pillow.
Then a mishap occurred: his vehicle collided with a cow, leading to the revocation of his driving license. He had to switch to carpentry to make a living. Following an invitation from another friend, he moved to Kasaru with Vania, hoping to regain his license within six months. Nevertheless, he tried to remain calm, not wanting Vania to sense his inner sorrow.
