Recently, Microsoft has finally announced the release date, specs, and other details about Surface Duo, its dual-screen Android smartphone. The device will launch in the US on September 10 and other markets thereafter with a price tag of $1,399 USD.
Download and Install Surface Duo on Your Phone, Computer:
As anticipated by many, Surface Duo will seamlessly integrate with Windows 10 thanks to the Your Phone app and Link to Windows feature. Instead of installing the Your Phone Companion app on Duo, users can link Surface Duo with their computer by navigating to the Link To Windows section in the Surface Duo settings app, similar to on Samsung phones.
This means Surface Duo will also have all the exclusive features of Samsung phones to date. Since Microsoft and Samsung began collaborating last year, the Korean company's phones have been equipped with a range of exclusive features, such as cloud clipboard synchronization, phone screen casting, and most recently, the ability to run phone apps on Windows 10 PCs. All those features will also work on Surface Duo.
Even with these exclusive features, the $1,399 price tag may be a tough pill to swallow. Surface Duo features last year's top-of-the-line processor - Snapdragon 855, 6GB of RAM, and starts from 128GB of storage, without support for 5G, wireless charging, or NFC.
