According to the Numbers website, Jujutsu Kaisen has grossed $183,249,667 (over 3.8 trillion VND) worldwide, excluding Germany's box office revenue of $2,574,760 (over 500 billion VND).
The total box office revenue of $185,824,427 (over 4.2 trillion VND) pushes Jujutsu Kaisen ahead of Stand by Me Doraemon to become the 7th successful animated film worldwide.
Currently, only 6 other anime films have earned more than Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Demon Slayer: Mugen Train holds the record for the highest-grossing animated film, followed by Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Ponyo. Gege Akutami commenced the Jujutsu Kaisen manga series in March 2018, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. However, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is based on a one-shot manga, published in April 2017 in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine. Meanwhile, the official anime produced by Mappa studio has confirmed the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 in 2023.
