Explore the European journey with a budget of 600,000 VND per day by blogger Mít Đặc.
I put everything on hold to live out my small dream: traveling for a year, from Europe to America and ending in West Asia. What I see, hear, taste, and experience during this year – might also be appealing to you.
Europe is an expensive place. Travel guides like Lonely Planet often calculate a minimum budget of 70 Euros per day (almost 2 million VND). But in reality, even with a tight budget, you can still travel in Europe. You can survive (and have fun) on 20 Euros per day (nearly 600k VND) – excluding transportation costs:
- 12 Euros for accommodation (dormitory – hostel bed)
- 5 Euros for food (shopping by yourself)
- 3 Euros for other expenses (if you save for a few days, you can afford various types of tickets)
1. Europe is always interesting, so choose cheap places
4. Go for a stroll
Walking is not only a great way to exercise but also an excellent opportunity to admire the scenery and streets, all for free. When traveling a long distance, consider taking a bus or subway.
5. Discover free attractions
Many major museums offer free admission hours, and there are plenty of free museums and parks as well. Only pay for the attractions that truly interest you.
6. Travel between cities
With early planning, you can find very cheap airfares, sometimes as low as 30 Euros. Europe has many budget airlines such as Ryanair, Vueling, and easyJet. Use flight search engines like Skyscanner.net or edreams.net to compare prices between airlines. Remember that budget airlines have strict regulations regarding baggage and other conditions, so pay attention to avoid additional costs.
