Method 2: Utilize custom format - Custom Format to format dates. Suppose you need to input dates with the format: dd-mm-yyyy, follow these steps:
Step 1: Choose the cell that needs quick date formatting.
Step 2: Go to the Home tab and click on the 'Arrow' as described in the image below:
Step 3: In the Format Cells interface, Number tab, select Custom:
Step 4: In the Type section, type dd-mm-yyyy and click OK to complete.
When you input the date 20/11 or 20-11, the result will resemble Step 4 in Method 1 as instructed above.
