Ingredients
– 300g beef brisket
– 3 stalks of lemongrass
– 2 chili peppers
– 2 purple onions
– 3 cloves of garlic
– Seasonings: broth powder, pepper, cooking oil, seasoning powder, salt, food coloring
Execution Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
After purchasing the beef, wash it thoroughly and then cut it into bite-sized pieces.
Clean the lemongrass under running water, let it dry, divide it into 2 parts, cut one part into small pieces, and finely chop the other part.
Wash the chili peppers, then cut them into small slices. Peel the shallots and garlic, then finely chop them.
Step 2: Marinate the beef
Put the beef in a bowl, then add seasoning powder, pepper, and fish sauce, mix well so that the beef absorbs the seasoning. Then add some cooking oil, continue to mix, marinate for 30 minutes.
Cooking oil helps the beef stay tender and flavorful. However, you should add the oil after mixing all the ingredients together to prevent the spices from clumping and not penetrating the beef.
Step 3: Beef Stew
Heat a pot with some cooking oil, chopped onions, and lemongrass, sauté until fragrant, then add the beef, chili, and remaining lemongrass.
Sauté until the beef is browned, then add water, cover and simmer over low heat for about 30 - 45 minutes until the beef is tender, season with spices to taste, then turn off the heat.
The lemongrass chili beef stew is done, sprinkle some pepper on top and garnish for visual appeal, serve and enjoy.
