Banks are currently providing strong support to customers for switching from magnetic stripe cards to chip cards before December 31st. It's expected that 100% of customers will use chip cards. Techcombank offers flexible options for upgrading to chip cards, including visiting the bank or using the Techcombank app (F@st Mobile) for self-service.

2. Switching from Regular Card to Techcombank Chip Card at the Bank
Techcombank branches and transaction offices provide support, handling all customer transactions from card replacement to transfers and savings. However, conducting transactions in general, especially card replacement at the bank, takes a lot of time. You need to schedule your time to arrive at Techcombank's nearest branch office on time, as the procedures can be somewhat complex.
Step 1: Bring your ID card/identity card that you used to register for the previous ATM card to the nearest Techcombank branch or transaction office and ask the staff to switch to a chip card.
Step 2: Present your ID card/identity card upfront, and fill in the information on the form provided by the bank staff.
Step 3: Once the staff verifies all the information and confirms your identity, they will return your ID card/identity card and provide you with the chip card. Schedule a date and time for you to pick it up.
Important notes when using Techcombank chip card:
- Withdrawing money from non-Techcombank ATMs will incur high fees (4% of the withdrawn amount, minimum of 50,000 VND), so it's best to limit chip card usage at other systems.
- You can make online purchases worldwide using this chip card.
- When transferring money via ATM, you can only transfer to accounts within the Techcombank system.
Both methods of changing names are entirely free of charge. Depending on your preference, you can choose to switch from a regular card to a Techcombank chip card by visiting the bank or using F@st Mobile. You can contact Techcombank's hotline for more detailed assistance from customer service representatives, making the process of switching to a Techcombank chip card easier and more convenient.
