Step 1: On MacBook, press command + Space (space button) to open the spotlight search. Here, you'll find Terminal, a tool similar to Command Prompt and PowerShell on Windows.
Step 2: In Terminal, enter the following 2 commands one by one, and after each command, press enter to confirm.
- Navigate to Dropbox directory
- Create symbolic link to ~/Desktop
Step 3: Now on MacBook, a symbolic link folder will automatically be created on the Desktop, linking to Dropbox. Any data files you drop into this folder will be linked.
Step 4: On Windows, right-click on the Desktop and select Properties.
Note: On Windows, Dropbox must also be used and the account must match that on Macbook.
Step 5: In the Desktop Properties section, select Location and then choose Move
Step 6: Here, navigate to the Desktop folder in the Dropbox section linked earlier on Macbook and choose select Folder.
The system will ask if you want to move everything, make sure to select Yes.
Finally, try renaming any folder on your Macbook, for example, the Mytour folder.
