T1 Chairman speaks out on team's defeat to RNG at MSI 2022 Finals.
In the MSI 2022 Finals match, T1 faced defeat against Royal Never Give Up at home, witnessing the LPL representative successfully defend the MSI championship. It was a bitter loss, especially as the series extended to game five. However, critical errors, particularly in the draft phase, prevented Faker and his teammates from retaining the MSI 2022 championship cup in the Korean LoL scene.
In subsequent interviews, both Coach Polt and Faker stirred controversy within the LoL community. While T1's coach attributed their loss to unfortunate luck in side selection, Faker argued that a ping of 35 had a significant impact. He also claimed that no RNG player impressed him enough. Both T1's coach and Faker's statements received mixed reactions, with many viewers believing that T1 was merely seeking excuses for the defeat and underestimating RNG's efforts.

However, T1's CEO Joe Marsh recently addressed the issue behind T1's loss to RNG head-on. In a Twitter post, he candidly stated: 'When you fail, you must squarely face the issue and think about what you should have done differently at that time. Reasons like draft... are just a part of why we failed. We lost mainly because RNG was the better team that day. Not just because of the coin toss or ping 35. We were defeated, plain and simple.'

It can be said that the CEO of T1's statement is almost completely opposite to that of Coach Polt's earlier remarks. In reality, RNG indeed played better than T1. Even on the Red side, which according to Coach Polt, had fewer advantages, RNG still made T1 sweat and had to end the game hastily. Clearly, it's not just about draft issues or luck; in fact, RNG won deservedly with what they showed in the MSI 2022 Finals.

In the immediate future, both teams are focusing on the Summer 2022 season, followed by the 2022 World Championship. The opportunity for T1 to face RNG again remains plentiful. However, both teams will have to improve, and audiences certainly anticipate more convincing and captivating performances between the two teams in the future.
