(Homeland) - The 2023 Worlds qualifiers are set to begin shortly, yet teams like T1 and Gen.G find themselves unable to practice.
On November 2nd, the first match of the direct qualifying rounds for the World Championship 2023 will officially take place, featuring a clash between NRG and Weibo Gaming (WBG). Hence, as soon as the Swiss rounds concluded, teams such as T1, Gen.G... swiftly headed to Busan (the venue for the qualifiers) to ensure optimal preparation.

However, an unforeseen incident befell T1 as the team couldn't engage in practice or ranked matches over the past two days. According to T1's management, this was due to network connectivity issues at the designated hotel arranged by the organizers. Despite contacting the tournament organizers, T1's training environment remained unimproved.
What's noteworthy is that T1 isn't the sole team encountering network issues. Shortly after T1's management posted about their situation, Gen.G's Mid Laner, Chovy, shared and expressed solidarity. It's highly likely that Gen.G and possibly other teams are also unable to practice or engage in ranked matches for similar reasons.

According to Quest, a journalist from Inven Global, this issue isn't new to the 2023 Worlds. The hotel designated by the organizers for the World Championship 2023 has been plagued by network problems during the Play-In stage and the Swiss phase. Consequently, many teams have had to extend their stay at their original hotels to secure a better training environment.

Since its inception, the 2023 World Championship has excelled in ensuring professional quality and audience excitement for the tournament. The Swiss format has made every match meaningful and significantly increased audience interest. However, the network connectivity issue mentioned above is a regrettable drawback of the 2023 World Championship.

It's worth noting that the direct elimination round of the 2023 World Championship will officially take place in just a few days. It would be a great pity if the game results of the teams are affected because they couldn't practice due to the aforementioned reason. Hopefully, the tournament organizers will promptly address this issue to help the teams have the best training environment in the coming time.
