(Motherland) - Many opinions are directed towards Riot after T1's recent defeat against Gen.G.
The most notable match of the first week of the LCK Summer 2023 season is the showdown between T1 and Gen.G - two long-standing rival teams with a rich history. Both teams are top contenders for the LCK Summer 2023 championship. Furthermore, this marks the first face-off between Faker and Chovy since their official inclusion in the roster for the Hangzhou ASIAD at the end of last year.

Both teams truly delivered an engaging and tense match until the very last minute. However, on a day of superior performance and tactical adherence, as well as more effective gameplay execution, Gen.G clinched the victory. This marks the second time since Spring 2022 that Gen.G has defeated T1 in a Group Stage match. The first instance was during the Summer 2022 season, in the second round-robin match between the two teams.

It cannot be denied that the players of both teams, especially Gen.G, displayed exceptional performance. However, many spectators are also pointing fingers at Riot. There are numerous opinions suggesting that it's due to Riot's '200 years of game-making' that T1 had to suffer a loss. Firstly, it's the Jungle Monster Mechanism. In a play where Oner and Faker planned to attack Chovy in the third game, Oner's Jungle Monster revealed his position, rendering this attack impossible.

Furthermore, the champion Zeri proved to be overly powerful, especially in the hands of players who are very familiar with this champion. During the laning phase, Peyz didn't exhibit any superiority over Gumayusi, if not outrightly falling behind. However, after just a few successful takedowns, Peyz demonstrated the strength of Zeri. Additionally, Gen.G maximized resources for the young Marksman, allowing Zeri in his hands to target all of T1's objectives.

T1 played exceptionally well, but Gen.G's superiority prevailed, aided by their '200 years of experience' champions. And there are many other factors, but it's undeniable, the pentakill maneuver (single-handedly eliminating the entire enemy team within a certain period) by Peyz led Gen.G to victory, not only crediting his teammates but also partly Riot.
