T1 encounters fresh challenges despite the recent commencement of the season
As recently known, LCK Spring 2024 has officially commenced with two captivating matches. The spotlight naturally centers around the clash between Gen.G - T1 - considered the Super Classic of LCK, particularly heightened after 2023, where Gen.G holds the LCK championship, and T1 claims the title of Worlds 2023 champions. The match unfolds as anticipated, concluding with a comeback by Chovy and teammates.

However, despite the season's fresh start, LCK faces an issue. According to recent information from LCK media, teams in the league have collectively committed to addressing profit distribution issues with the tournament organizers and reforms impacting the competition. On January 17, the teams state that they've requested changes for three years but find themselves in an unresolved situation.

Yet, a complication arises when T1 promptly declares their non-participation in this commitment. T1's CEO mentions, 'We will have private discussions with LCK and abstain from these discussions or statements. We will also engage with Riot, as a good business partner, and not conceal it from the fans.'. Thus, in a sense, T1 has been subjected to 'verbal stuffing' by LCK media in the announcement 'All 10 teams in the league will oppose the organizers.'

Furthermore, according to an announcement from T1's parent company (Comcast), the team's brand cannot always be comfortably included in official or unofficial statements without T1's consent. T1 also expresses awareness of how fatigued their players are. One of the issues raised by the remaining 9 teams is addressing the significantly lower number of matches compared to other professional sports events.

Clearly, T1 has reasons not to align with the remaining 9 teams in opposing LCK. It's not just a branding issue, but T1 faces staunch opposition from the team's fans due to the intricately scheduled and 'show-packed' lineup, especially after the conclusion of the 2023 season.
