To view the list of additional software, simply visit Applications =>System =>Tool =>Additional Software. Here, users can see the list and choose to remove any software they desire.
Developers also emphasize that pre-installed software must be carefully checked to avoid security risks. Installing additional packages may compromise the integrated security layer in Tails, and users are advised not to install too much software.
Another significant change is the integration of VeraCrypt, allowing users to access encrypted devices by navigating to Applications => System Tool => Unlock VeraCrypt Volumes. This feature is added in the Files and Disks utility in the GNOME project and will be available in upcoming operating systems such as Debian 10 and Ubuntu 18.10.
Lastly, the integration of Tor Browser 8.0 is highlighted, along with the feature to create a new circuit for active tabs based on the Firefox Quantum browser. Unfortunately, Tails still requires users to manually enter information before using the Tor browser; download Tor here.
