Taki of SGB stated the desire to defeat G2 to knock them out of the top 4 because Jankos dared to 'betray VCS'.
In the recent MSI 2022, Saigon Buffalo managed to advance through the group stage but faced disappointing results in the Rumble Stage. The 'Buffaloes' only caused some surprises in the later rounds, managing to defeat both PSG Talon and G2 Esports, as well as presenting challenges for Royal Never Give Up. Furthermore, SGB received numerous praises for their performance.

In an interview following the conclusion of their journey at MSI 2022, Taki - SGB's Support player and a prominently noticed figure, expressed complete relaxation after his first MSI experience. Taki mentioned feeling immensely pleased after defeating G2.
Additionally, he mentioned that the team's initial objective was to eliminate G2 altogether: 'We're thrilled about this victory, and to be honest, initially, we wanted to boot G2 out of that top 4 spot. Why, you ask? Because Giang Van Cot (a name coined by the Vietnamese LoL community for Jankos) dared to 'betray' us Vietnamese LoL players.'

Moreover, Taki expressed deep regret as he and SGB couldn't secure a victory against T1. He believed that both himself and the SGB team would have been even happier if they had managed to defeat Faker and his teammates. However, it's possible that the SGB players are aware that this could merely be wishful thinking. Despite having some matches that weren't particularly convincing and some T1 members not performing at their best, the LCK representatives remain a formidable team, surpassing SGB in experience and skill.

Regardless, it's undeniable that the young players from VCS had a somewhat successful MSI. Not only were they the youngest team, but SGB arrived at MSI 2022 with many doubts, both from the audience and the professional community. However, they overcame all challenges, even earning praise and respect from both opponents and audiences from other regions. And this undoubtedly serves as valuable experience for SGB as they look towards the Summer 2022 Split and beyond, including the Worlds 2022 which will take place at the end of the year.
