Tây Thiên Tam Đảo Festival – Spring Day 'come to Buddha, return to Mother'
The Tây Thiên Festival is organized within the precinct of Tây Thiên scenic area, part of the Tam Đảo National Park system. Annually, the festival is held to allow tourists to admire the beautiful scenery, and to revive the noble cultural values of the ethnic group.

Tây Thiên is recognized as a convergence of Buddhism and Mother Goddess worship, amidst the sacred traditions of the people. According to legend, Khuong Tang Hoi, an Indian ascetic on his pilgrimage, was captivated by the tranquil and elegant landscapes here and chose to stop and propagate Buddhism.

Thus, Tây Thiên is often considered as 'coming to Buddha, returning to Mother'. The Mother here refers to Lady Lang Thi Tieu, the Principal Consort of Hung Chieu Vuong (Lang Lieu, the ancestor of Chung cake and Day cake), residing in Dong Luong, Dai Dinh commune, Tam Đảo district, Vinh Phuc province.
