On the 7th of January, in Las Vegas - TCL Electronics - one of the leading companies in the television industry worldwide, unveiled groundbreaking display technology at the Consumer Electronics Show 2020: Mini-LED technology.
Pioneering innovation in display technology and delivering powerful image performance, TCL's new Mini-LED technology is the world's first TV backlight with a driving semiconductor array and tens of thousands of ultra-small mini LEDs directly embedded in the transparent glass substrate. Mini-LED technology represents the next step in pushing LCD TV image performance to sharp contrast, dazzling brightness, and long-term stability. When combined with TCL's large 8K LCD panel, this high-performance backlight technology will immerse users in every lighting condition, from being enveloped by a movie in the darkest home theater to being thrilled by a daytime soccer match in a sunlit living room. TCL TVs supported by Mini-LED technology will deliver breakthrough screen performance in any room at any time.

Unlike previous generation TV screen technologies struggling with room lighting conditions or long lifespan, TCL TVs powered by Mini-LED technology will deliver exceptional contrast and powerful brightness suitable for every type of TV viewing - from movie enthusiasts craving accuracy and detail to gamers favoring speed and demanding quick response times, contrast, and clarity. By employing expansive pure glass panels ranging 65 inches, 75 inches or larger with tens of thousands of precisely controlled tiny light sources, TV performance is elevated to new heights.
World-Class Display
TCL's valuable record in developing innovative TV technology, intriguing customers and critics alike, continues once more this year with the introduction of new Mini-LED technology. Leveraging TCL's $8 billion investment into a modern and newly opened panel manufacturing facility, all designs and automated production of LCD screens, as well as the newly equipped glass blade with Mini-LED technology, are in-house controlled by TCL. Compared to existing LED production processes, the new TCL-developed process combining semiconductors with crystalline substrates will deliver higher efficiency, higher accuracy, and greater brightness.
