These extremely powerful team compositions below are soon to be neglected by players of Teamfight Tactics in the upcoming patch 14.2.
Fearful Duplicate Vex
Emerging strongly in Teamfight Tactics in patch 14.1, Vex with the Fearful Duplicate core quickly becomes extremely powerful and is utilized by many pro players. This playstyle is annoying because Vex inherently possesses very strong crowd control with a 1.5-second area-of-effect fear. Combined with magic damage items, this unit can pull enemy health extremely well and deny the opponent any chance to react.
Vex with the Fearful Duplicate core is currently a very strong playstyle in patch 14.1In the upcoming patch 14.2, Vex is heavily nerfed and no longer as annoying. Specifically, the fear duration from this character's skill is reduced to only 0.75 seconds (halved compared to before). Furthermore, the Fearful Duplicate core no longer provides critical strike chance and significantly reduces Vex's ability to one-shot opponents. With the aforementioned changes, the Vex Fearful Duplicate team composition may disappear from the meta.
Disco
In patch 14.1, Disco is possibly one of the strongest 'Fast 9' compositions with an incredibly versatile offense and defense. This composition boasts numerous sturdy tank champions, abundant crowd control to create openings for carries. Meanwhile, Twisted Fate in the backline proves to be an exceptionally potent spellcaster with his timely spell rotations. As a result, finding a Superstar Twisted Fate makes securing a top 4 spot extremely effortless for players.
Superstar Twisted Fate is almost a guarantee for a top 4 position for gamersHowever, this won't persist in the upcoming patch 14.2. The reason stems from heavy nerfs to Twisted Fate's skill damage and energy. Furthermore, the healing effect and attack speed increase of the Disco tribe are also nerfed, leading to a significant decrease in the 'Card Master's' output damage. Therefore, Disco may no longer be a top-tier meta composition in the forthcoming patch.
Holy Deer
Reroll compositions featuring Riven or Yone are proving to be extremely formidable in patch 14.1 due to their substantial damage output and robust healing capabilities. Additionally, these compositions excel in mid-game scenarios and can sustain well to gain an advantage in the later stages. Moreover, the Holy Deer tribe itself boasts many champions capable of taking on carry roles, making this composition even stronger towards the endgame due to the additional provided items.
Owning 3-star Riven or Yone will greatly facilitate players in achieving victory in the current patchHowever, this playstyle is also targeted by Riot Games in the upcoming patch. For Riven, the additional damage when using skills will be reduced to only 90% of SMCK. Meanwhile, Superstar Yone will suffer reductions in both health and additional SMCK. This will significantly limit the output damage of Riven or Yone and make them easier to defeat. This could even lead to the Holy Deer composition fading from the top meta group.
Conclusion
With a series of significant power reductions from Riot, team compositions including Fearful Duplicate Vex, Disco, and Holy Deer will become much weaker in the new patch. Players probably shouldn't use these compositions in the future to avoid experiencing an uncontrollable drop in rankings when patch 14.2 officially launches.
