A variety of popular compositions in Teamfight Tactics will undergo substantial power reductions in patch 11.24b by Riot Games.
After the release of patch 11.24 for about a week, Teamfight Tactics players can clearly see the shift in the meta. Compositions revolving around Sorcerers, especially Vex, have appeared much less due to the heavy nerfs on this unit's resilience. The Katarina-centric playstyle has completely vanished, replaced by Assassin compositions utilizing Twitch or Shaco, and Akali as the core.

On the other hand, compositions that were already strong like Protector - Sharpshooter reroll and Duelist teams have not been altered significantly. Therefore, these compositions have become incredibly powerful with the new patch. Additionally, compositions revolving around Cho'Gath and the Mutant tribe or the Galio 'smasher' team also have a solid standing.
Riot Games seems to express dissatisfaction with the consistent dominance of Protector - Sharpshooter and Duelist compositions in the top meta. This led to the decision to update patch 11.24b from Riot Games and heavily nerf the powerhouses of these compositions. Not stopping there, Galio's continued nerfs to the base SMCK stats also significantly reduce this unit's damage output.

Regarding the changes to the hextech core, we can see that upgrades beneficial to the Mutant composition have been heavily nerfed. With Cho'Gath in possession, the duration of each round for the Mutant composition is quite long, and the number of units on the board is usually lower than the opponents. Therefore, upgrades like Reclaiming the Battlefield, Ascension are very potent for this composition. When these upgrades are nerfed, the Mutant composition is no longer as dominant.
Following that, we see direct nerfs to Mutation units like Kassadin and Cho'Gath. The increase in maximum energy and the nerfing of basic health and SMCK stats will significantly hinder Cho'Gath's ability to accumulate skill stacks. It's highly likely that with these nerfs, the Mutation composition will quickly drop in rank and no longer remain in the top meta. Another severely affected composition is the Protectors, as their shields in the upcoming patch will only last for 4 seconds.
Regarding the trio of champions Yone, Galio, and Akali, all of them have experienced a significant reduction in power. The bug fix that prevents Yone's shadow from doubling stats from Academy and Duelist traits will greatly reduce his damage output. Combined with the previous patch's nerfs, users of the Duelist team will also encounter more difficulties in climbing the ranks.

The nerfs aimed at Galio can be considered as completely eliminating the playstyle of stacking critical strike items and making this chess piece the centerpiece. With only 110 base SMCK, a 1-star Galio can no longer deal enough damage to defeat opponents as before. Meanwhile, the reduction in Akali's strength seems reasonable as it prevents this unit from easily 'one-shotting' opponents as it did before.
