In the current Covid pandemic context, online learning and meeting solutions such as Zoom and Teams have become more popular than ever. Similar to Zoom, while using Teams, users also often encounter errors, notably login errors.
Fixing the Teams Login Screen Whiteout Error
Method 1: Sign out and sign back in to Teams
To resolve the Teams login screen whiteout error, the first solution is to try signing out and signing back into Teams.
Step 1: On the Teams login window displaying the whiteout screen, find and click the X icon located in the top right corner.
Step 2: On the We've encountered an issue window, click on the Signing out link to log out of Teams.

Method 2: Another Way to Fix Teams Error

Step 1: First, navigate to the following path:
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current
Note: In the above path, replace yourusername with your actual username.
Step 2: Next, locate and double-click on Teams.exe.
Additionally, according to some shared experiences, adjusting compatibility settings can also help resolve Teams login issues. Follow the steps below:
First, locate and right-click on Teams.exe, then select Properties. In the Properties window that appears on the screen, find and click on the Compatibility tab.
Under the Compatibility mode section, check the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 7 from the menu. Finally, click Apply to apply the changes.
Now you should be able to open Teams and log in normally.
Method 3: Uninstalling and Reinstalling Teams
Finally, if none of the above methods are feasible, the ultimate solution to fix Teams for you is to uninstall and reinstall the application.
- Uninstalling Teams on Windows 10, 8:
To uninstall Teams on Windows 10, first press Windows + I to open the Settings window. Here, locate and click on Apps =>Apps & features.
Next, scroll down to find Teams and click on the Uninstall button to remove the application installation.
- Uninstalling Teams on Windows 7:
On Windows 7, first open Control Panel and then click on Programs =>Uninstall a Program. Next, from the list of installed applications and software on the system, scroll down to find and right-click on Teams, then select Uninstall to uninstall the application.
Finally, proceed to download and reinstall Teams to see if the issue persists.
