Apple Officially Blocks iPhone Users from Downgrading to iOS 16.5.1

Following the release of iOS 16.6 last week, Apple has now stopped signing iOS 16.5.1. This means iPhone users upgrading to the latest iOS version will no longer be able to downgrade to iOS 16.5.1.

According to 9to5mac, this move is unsurprising from Apple as the company typically stops signing older iOS versions a few weeks after releasing a new one. This action is viewed as part of Apple's efforts to help users update to the latest features and ensure device security.

Apple Pencil Unable to Draw Directly on Third-Party Replacement iPad Screens

According to a new report from users and repair shops, Apple Pencil will not function properly on non-genuine replacement iPad screens. It will draw squiggly lines diagonally instead of straight.

Ricky Panesar, CEO of the UK repair company iCorrect, told Forbes that when using non-genuine replacement screens on newer models (fifth and sixth-generation 12.9-inch, as well as third and fourth-generation 11-inch), straight lines do not display when using Apple Pencil to draw at an angle. Panesar told Forbes: 'Apple has a memory chip on the screen programmed to only enable Apple Pencil functionality if the screen is connected to the original logic board.'
