The Temple Amidst the Fields, located in Nam Hoa Ward, Quang Yen Town, was constructed by the people around the late 17th century. It stands as a crucial religious site for the local community and an ideal destination for spiritual tourism.
Temple Amidst the Fields – A Sacred Sanctuary amidst Quang Yen's Plains
Formerly known as Huong Dinh Phong Quang Temple, written in Nôm script as Temple Amidst the Fields, the temple was later officially renamed Giữa Đồng due to its position amidst vast paddy fields and peaceful rural villages.

Having stood the test of time and the impact of nature, many parts of the temple have deteriorated significantly. To meet the cultural and spiritual needs of the people within and outside the town, Quang Yen Town has undertaken extensive restoration of Temple Amidst the Fields, covering an area of 21,671 square meters.
By January 2021, the temple's restoration was completed, and the main temple was officially inaugurated. The main temple is designed in the architectural style of the Ly dynasty, spanning 600 square meters, entirely constructed of ironwood and solid stone, featuring an eight-tiered, seven-roofed structure.

In addition to the main temple, there are also various facilities such as the pavilion, ancestral hall, memorial hall, guesthouse, one-pillar pagoda, offering house, Arhat corridor, transformation hall, bell tower, mountain cave, eighteen Arhats…

The main hall is currently venerating the Triple Gem, including Buddha, the World-Honored One, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, the Medicine Buddha, Laughing Buddha, Jade Emperor, Southern Emperor, Northern Emperor, Avalokiteshvara of Compassion… The bell tower is also constructed of wood, with the bell cast in bronze and weighing 1.5 tons.

A distinctive feature of Temple Amidst the Fields is found in the ancestral hall where, in addition to honoring those who contributed to the temple's establishment, revered figures such as Uncle Ho are also worshipped, serving to commemorate their significant contributions, generosity, and reminding Buddhist practitioners to follow their moral examples.
Apart from the main festival held on the 9th day of the first lunar month annually, the temple also attracts many local residents and tourists from afar on the full moon day and the first day of every lunar month for sightseeing, worship, and seeking blessings.

The completion of the temple's restoration not only enhances the potential for spiritual tourism but also serves as a focal point for the tourism industry in Quang Yen town, meeting the religious and spiritual needs of the local population. Temple Amidst the Fields will be an enticing destination in Quang Ninh for the upcoming Lunar New Year!
