DTCL: Dark Star Team Composition with Uncommonly Strong Equipments Few Know About
Dark Star is a special tribe that is relatively difficult to utilize in TFT Season 11, as it leans towards close-range attacks and finishing moves, but lacks in durability or a frontline carry. This tribe also has many interesting hidden interactions that players overlook, so although it's theoretically powerful, mastering a Dark Star composition to climb ranks isn't easy. Let's explore how to turn theory into practice with Mytour!

Strengths of Dark Star
Looking at the tribe's description, we can see that Dark Star is indeed very powerful with its natural shield, finishing abilities, and many strong champions. However, the issue with Dark Star is its fragile champions, most of which are offense-oriented, severely lacking in tankiness and heavily relying on hitting high tribe level thresholds to unlock their full potential.
Currently, there are many ways to develop Dark Star, but the most common is to reroll for 2-star Alune and Yone to leverage the existing strength of Dark Star in the mid-game and snowball towards the late game with 5-cost units. Yone in Season 11 is very different from Yone in Season 10, no longer being a 1vs9 duelist but leaning more towards an assassin role. Similarly, Alune also exhibits this trait as her skills now focus on single-target damage.
At level 6, the dark power of Dark Star shines across the battlefield, while at level 4, Dark Star champions execute enemies below 20% health. A very nice mechanism of this tribe is that execute damage also counts towards healing, so items like Hextech Gunblade or Morellonomicon are very strong when rerolling, because when you finish off the frontline, the champion with Hextech Gunblade will heal a ton for allies.
Utilize this interaction to cover Dark Star's weakness in terms of tanks; for example, Alune with the standard items often seen as Shojin + Guardian Angel, then the third item could be Hextech Gunblade. Similarly with Yone, his commonly used items are Bloodthirster + Giant Slayer, which can also be replaced with Hextech Gunblade instead of Bloodthirster, benefiting from Yone's good AP scaling, avoiding excess effect.
Playing Style and Team Composition
Playing Dark Star reroll is very strong but requires many conditions, with the most crucial being having a Spatula to craft a synergy, otherwise the core items must be Dark Star synergy items, so that we can reach level 6 without sacrificing too many resources. Dark Star with and without synergy is entirely different, so only play this composition if you satisfy this condition; as for items, you don't need to worry because both Alune and Yone except for one core item are flexible.
Dark Star has the advantage of being quite strong early on, requiring only 2 champions to reach the first threshold, and it pairs very well with Celestial. The champion starting with items early on is Darius, who can also use items from both Yone and Alune, so you can maintain health very well with only 1 and 2-cost champions early on, even confidently level up to keep winning streaks if you get good items or champions.
Play normally and level up to 7 at 3-4 or 3-5, from here you should roll immediately to get either 2-star Yone or Alune to stabilize the board, switch champions and activate 4 Dark Star to receive the 20% health threshold. This composition will require 3-star Yone and Alune, but if you deviate from champions and have a position to get a 3-star earlier, then you can stop and level up to 8, because the chance to roll 3-star champions at level 8 is similar to level 7, moreover, at level 8 you will have the opportunity to upgrade your team composition to 6 Dark Star and obtain higher quality 5-cost units.
If you have the Dark Star synergy, then you can reach the 6th threshold without needing Darius - an ineffective champion, we can bring in the Mystic to buff Alune, both helping her recover energy faster and adding versatility to the team (need a tank then add Annie, need more damage pick Azir). Additionally, Sett is a crucial champion in this composition, hence the weakness of Dark Star is because it requires too many conditions to be strong.
Although it's a somewhat difficult composition to use, Dark Star possesses impressive strength, with a significant potential for advancement with all the damage focused on the backline, making it extremely difficult to counter.
