TFT Season 10: Mortdog Explains Why Super Titan Upgrades Had to Be Removed
Since its debut in 2019, TFT has quickly become a national game alongside its older sibling, League of Legends, in the gaming community.
With its auto-battler mechanics and fantastic champion roster, TFT always brings freshness to players through each match. One thing that sets TFT apart from other auto chess games is its seasons. Each season, the Riot team designs and delivers a unique set of champions fitting the theme of that season. As of now, TFT has gone through 10 seasons, each leaving a lasting impression on players.
In addition to constantly updating hot metas or providing comprehensive guides to TFT players, S-Games is building a Discord community to create a new playground and gather true 'red dogs.' If you're a TFT player struggling with ranked matches or simply lacking sportsmanship, don't rush to hit the 'Uninstall' button, but rather join the S-Games Discord community right away.JOIN THE S-GAMES DISCORD NOW!
Each season brings newly designed mechanics, like Force of Nature in season 4 or Fabled in season 7. If a new mechanic shows promise for reuse, Riot won't hesitate to bring it back, like they did with the Spatula in season 9. However, there's one exception that Riot overlooked: Super Titan Upgrades. This mechanic allowed you to enhance the power of a specific champion to play a crucial role in your lineup. It's fair to say that Super Titan Upgrades were a very flexible mechanism, aiding in comebacks or even turning the tide of a lobby. The reason Super Titan Upgrades were 'axed' is due to the introduction of Superstars in the current season. According to Riot MortDog: 'We have a problem like this. Let's say you have an upgrade for Ekko and you think, 'I just need to get Ekko to Superstar.' So, Super Titan Upgrades can make team building more difficult as players are always in a position to be forced into a play.' Additionally, Riot MortDog also announced that the team had considered bringing back Super Titan Upgrades, but due to the season 10 mechanics, it had to be postponed.
