The $150 shelf solves the clutter in the cabinet
Some of my photography and filming gear, or odds and ends, have been neatly rearranged thanks to a movable plastic shelf.Lately, I've been capturing photos and filming at home, resulting in quite a mess of items. It takes a bit of time to find something. So, I decided to purchase a plastic shelf to organize this pile of stuff. I prioritized getting a movable shelf for easy maneuvering around the house. I bought a plastic shelf to save money, it cost less than $150.The shelf is placed right next to my workspace, so whenever I need something, I can just reach out and grab it. It's quite convenient since the shelf aligns perfectly with the edge of the desk. This shelf has legs, allowing me to push it back and forth around the house. When I need space for something else, I'll just move this shelf to a different spot.
I arrange lightweight and essential items on the top shelf so I can easily see the tasks at hand. It provides quick access to things I need for photography or filming. The middle tier is for various miscellaneous items like microphones, power banks, etc.The camera is placed on the bottom tier of the shelf to minimize damage in case of tipping. Initially, I was concerned about the balance due to the plastic construction, so I added a 5 kg weight to the bottom tier to stabilize it. However, after a few days of testing, I found the shelf to be sturdy and resistant to tipping, so I removed the weight. These are the wheels of the shelf, with additional locks to secure them. The wheels are easy to assemble. However, given the price of $150, smooth wheel movement cannot be expected. The support frames are made of glossy plastic, not extremely sturdy. It's best to only place lightweight items on the shelf. The seller mentioned this shelf is for storing diapers, haha. The basket part for storing items isn't overly robust either. The shelf sags lightly when heavy items are placed on it.There are additional hooks for hanging other accessories.Overall, the shelf is quite decent for the price range. However, it's recommended to use it for storing light items only.
