Three years ago, Honda left motorcycle enthusiasts in awe with the introduction of the CB1000R, a naked bike sporting the 'Neo Sport Cafe' style. This model seamlessly blends classic and modern elements. Recently, the CB1000R made its debut with the 2021 version. The bike's power still comes from a 4-cylinder, in-line 998cc engine inherited from the Fireblade, similar to the previous version. However, the bike's aesthetics have been refined to elevate its allure. Additionally, several design elements have been reimagined to meet emission standards and incorporate new technology.
The circular LED headlight defines the Neo Sport Cafe series. The daytime running light (DRL) strip on the outside remains intact, but the headlight design is slightly tilted to enhance aerodynamics. Observers will easily notice this subtle change. The aluminum cover for the water tank is shortened and tilted forward, contributing to a modern touch while retaining its classic charm. The solo seat at the rear, crafted from new cast aluminum, along with the smaller license plate position on a single bracket, adds a beautiful touch. Instead of the current Y-shaped rims, the 2021 CB1000R model features eye-catching multi-spoke rims.
In addition, the 2021 edition introduces a new aesthetic with an elegant all-black color scheme known as the 'Black Edition.' For enthusiasts who appreciate the allure of black, this version is irresistible. All chrome details on the standard version, such as headlight covers, side covers, fork caps, and footpegs, have been repainted black in the 'Black Edition.' Notable exceptions include some alloy details on the wheels and the engine casing.
The Honda CB1000R 2021 retains the 4-cylinder, in-line engine with a displacement of 998 cc. This engine delivers a maximum power of 143.5 horsepower at 10,500 rpm and a peak torque of 104 Nm at 8,250 rpm. The exhaust pipes have been redesigned, fuel injection revamped, and a new air flow sensor in the exhaust pipes to achieve better emission standards. The riding modes remain unchanged: Rain, Standard, User, and Sport.
The classic LCD display has been upgraded to a vibrant TFT color screen on this motorcycle. This advanced dashboard provides essential information to riders for a better experience. Moreover, it can be voice-controlled via the smartphone app 'HSVC' using Bluetooth technology. To enjoy this feature, riders need Bluetooth headphones along with their helmets. The bike is also equipped with a USB-A port for convenient phone charging on the go. As of now, the official selling price for the motorcycle has not been announced.
