Phat Nha Temple is located in Singapore's Chinatown, renowned for its unique and sacred architecture. It's a revered place of worship.
Exploring Singapore's $75 million USD temple with Tang Dynasty architecture
Constructed in 2007, Phat Nha Temple's architecture and interior draw from the art and history of Buddhism. Its name comes from the relic housed here – the left canine tooth of the Buddha, brought from Kushinagar, India.

Designed by abbot Shi Fa Zhao (Ven. Master Dharma Light) and local artisans with assistance from foreign consultants, the construction cost of the temple amounted to $75 million USD. It blends elements of Tang Dynasty architecture and the Mandala, a symbol of the universe in Buddhist culture.
The Buddhist Cultural Museum on the third floor exhibits artifacts related to the Buddha, such as bone and tongue relics. The Sacred Light Hall on the fourth floor houses the temple's most precious treasure – the Buddha's tooth relic housed in a giant stupa weighing 3,500 kg. The stupa is made of 320 kg of gold, 234 kg of which were donated by devotees. When visiting Singapore, tourists can view the relic from a designated observation area from 9 am to 6 pm daily. Only monks are allowed inside the chamber to view the relic.

In addition, visitors can explore the Eminent Sangha Museum, a venue for cultural performances, lectures, and film screenings. For a peaceful corner amidst the bustling Chinatown, the rooftop garden with the Falun Dafa wheel is an ideal resting place. The temple also offers courses on the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni for tourists. Every day, the temple recites the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance Sutra at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
When visiting Singapore, tourists can visit temples or sign up for free guided tours. These tours, conducted by volunteers, last about two hours and take visitors through various levels. You will explore the Hundred Dragons Hall, where hundreds of Buddha statues are displayed, and the Universal Wisdom Hall, where artworks of Bodhisattvas are exhibited.
