One of the most famous Hollywood action franchises, 'The Mercenaries' (The Expendables), is set to return officially in September. Iconic faces from the series like Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham will make a simultaneous comeback, along with the appearance of renowned newcomers like Megan Fox and 50 Cent.
'The Mercenaries 4' (original title: Expend4ables) continues to follow this special task force as they embark on new missions, this time aiming to thwart the terrorist mastermind Suarto's plot to smuggle nuclear weapons and incite war between the Russian and American factions.
In the introduction segment of 'The Mercenaries 4', audiences will meet familiar faces that were once a cherished part of their early 21st-century memories. Seasoned Sylvester Stallone returns to the film in a special role, handing over the spotlight to Jason Statham as Lee Christmas. This time, Lee will lead the team in executing imminent perilous missions.
Additionally, audiences will witness the captivating return of Hollywood's most seductive bombshell, Megan Fox. At 36, Fox possesses a strikingly beautiful face and an incredibly alluring figure. She portrays a CIA agent, as well as Lee's former girlfriend. The intimate moments between Jason Statham and Megan Fox in the trailer raise expectations for the peak 'chemistry reaction' between the two. Many speculate that it has been a long time since they've seen Jason Statham, the 'lone hero,' play the 'lover' alongside a female star with such steamy scenes on the big screen.
The glimpses revealed through the trailer promise to transport audiences back to the golden era of Hollywood action films, with explosive sequences, high-speed chases, and gripping close combats. After the third installment, which left many fans 'disheartened' due to its lightness to fit the PG-13 rating, the team shared that they are crafting 'The Mercenaries 4' with the direction of an R-rated action movie, bringing back all the trademark intense fights and trademark violence of the series to the screen.
Alongside the A-list stars, the new film installment will be led by director Scott Waugh, known for directing several famous action movies, including Need for Speed.
This autumn, The Mercenaries 4 is ready to make waves on screens worldwide. The film is scheduled to premiere internationally and in Vietnam on 09/22/2023.
