Warriors in Arena of Valor demand a high skill level as well as good solo capabilities. In the current meta, we see the rise of resilient heroes, those who can sustain and shield their teammates from incoming damage.
However, for those focused on climbing solo ranks, such heroes may struggle to carry a team if unfortunate enough to end up with inexperienced teammates. So, who are the most reliable heroes for the Dark Lord's Road in Season 4 of 2023 that won't fall out of the meta? Let's explore the 5 standout and worthwhile heroes in the new Dream World Version.

Top 5 - Zuka
Despite being a perennial hot pick in ranked matches with many players putting their trust in him, Zuka struggles to dominate on the new Dream World map. The expanded terrain makes it challenging for Zuka to farm at Top while also being able to appear unexpectedly at Mid or Dragon at crucial moments.

In tournaments, Zuka faces numerous counter matchups such as Keera, Wonder Woman, Yan, Richter, Skud,... making it slightly more challenging to play, but in ranked matches, it's a different story. In the hands of skilled players, Zuka remains a formidable force on the lane, delivering impactful damage and mesmerizing plays if his abilities are utilized effectively, especially his second skill and continuous healing passive.
Some key points to consider when playing Zuka on the new map are that certain walls in the current game are exceptionally thick, and without his ultimate ability, Zuka cannot jump over them as he could on the old map. Therefore, players need to regularly test the map in normal matches to determine which walls Zuka can leap over with his first skill, which areas benefit from his second skill, and where the thickest walls are that require his third skill.
Top 4 - Florentino
One of the reasons many players hesitate to pick Florentino on the new map is because of the thick walls. If he has to go solo and the enemy hero is too mobile, they can simply jump over walls to escape, leaving Florentino stranded and helpless.

In truth, if you dance well, still have your ultimate and Blink, it's difficult for enemies to escape. Florentino is always a hero in Arena of Valor that requires skill, one that any solo laner should know how to play because he can handle almost any matchup, particularly on or even matchups. If Florentino gets his Fenrir's Tooth, it's like a one-shot wonder.
However, currently in the Vietnamese ranked scene, if you bring Florentino into matches from Warrior tier and above, it's quite challenging. This isn't due to skill issues but rather the rampant high-rank map hack problem, and Florentino needs to ambush to surprise combo. So if the enemy has a flashlight, what's the point of hiding, right? Heroes like Yue, Iggy, Elsu,... can even make Florentino lose half his health without him doing anything.
Top 3 - Omen
Omen in the Vietnamese and Taiwanese servers share many similarities in their gameplay, focusing on either full or semi-damage independence. In the Thai server, players prefer an Omen playstyle combined with Rouie to create a super potent pushing duo that's extremely dangerous. Without Rouie, Omen also has a unique operating style, which is to fight together rather than risk his life pushing alone.
However, in situations where the team is under too much pressure, that's when he should split off to push the turret, but when on the offensive, he should stick with teammates. In the Vietnamese ranked scene, the Omen Spirit Linen playstyle with high damage is quite common and brings a lot of effectiveness.

In tournaments, you might see cases where Omen catches someone and then chains them for teammates to deal damage from behind, but in ranked matches, you have to prioritize catching the carries. If the enemy has a Zip, you need to consider carefully who to chain, when to chain, but to avoid unwanted situations, just focus on chaining Zip. Currently, on Mytour's ranked climb, you don't encounter Omen too much from the Expert 3X tier, but in higher ranks or from the Master tier downwards, Omen is the boss of the Dark Lord's Road. At which rank do you usually encounter this hero? Leave a comment to let me know.
Top 2 - Maloch
Maloch continues to prove himself as the top Warrior in Arena of Valor, exerting a significant influence on the meta, dealing substantial damage, boasting excellent durability, and map awareness. Currently, the prevalent Maloch playstyle focuses on high damage, but if the team needs a Warrior with good resilience without sacrificing too much damage, Maloch can also opt for a semi-damage build, but at least with Muramasa and Fenrir's Tooth.

In tournaments, we've seen a rise in the Maloch + Rouie combo, where Rouie sets up her second skill in the turret while Maloch delivers devastating blows, then Rouie uses her ultimate to pull him back to safety. While Maloch is most threatening when built for damage, playing this way leaves him vulnerable, so Rouie acts as both an initiator and an escape plan, ensuring Maloch can engage and retreat safely.
This duo is quite prevalent in the Thai server, but less so in the Vietnamese server due to the difficulty of finding a skilled Rouie player. Maloch is not only a nightmare for tanky heroes but also for Marksmen, Mages, and Assassins. It's simple - one swipe of his scythe deals 3k damage, two swipes, and the enemy is left wondering how they're still alive.
Top 1 - Yan
The top Warrior in Arena of Valor, nominated across the Thai, Taiwanese, and Vietnamese servers, is none other than Yan, boasting an incredibly high win rate. Not only is he dominant in the Jungle, but he's also formidable in solo lanes, able to handle various matchups with ease. Moreover, this hero is highly favored in tournaments, with many teams competing for his effectiveness. It's no surprise that Yan claims the top spot in the rankings, as he's a hero capable of carrying teams strongly, especially as he reaches level 12 and beyond.

It's true that Yan shines in the late game, but he still relies on team composition to truly excel. Typically, you need heroes who can support Yan with strong skill buffs like Xeniel, Allain, for example.
