Despite the city's clamor regarding the desecration of the Ceramic Road, the project recently made it into the world record books, yet it continues to deteriorate, leaving many with a heavy heart.
Stretching nearly 4km along the Red River dyke, the 'Ceramic Road' masterpiece has been honored by the Guinness World Records and is also one of the focal points commemorating the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi in 2010.

However, a saddening reality, the Ceramic Road has rapidly deteriorated significantly, with many ceramic pieces on the murals peeling, cracking, and becoming dirty and stained.
Apart from the degradation caused by peeling and cracking ceramics, the entire length of the ceramic mural is still 'contaminated' daily as hundreds of unaware individuals consider the ceramic wall as a 'public restroom'.
