Riot's game balance is still questionable after the outcomes at Worlds 2023.
In recent days, the World Championship 2023 has witnessed captivating matches, such as Gen.G - T1 and G2's dominating victories before being stopped by Gen.G. GAM Esports is on the brink of danger with only one chance against Team Liquid to save themselves. The new format of Worlds 2023 adds an unpredictable element, requiring players to focus maximally for the best results.

However, recently disclosed information about the matches stirs controversy in the League of Legends community. Renowned former caster Caedrel points out: 'The Blue side is showing strength unbelievably. An 80% win rate is terrifying. Both games by Weibo Gaming (WBG) on the Red team resulted in losses.'. Echoing this sentiment, the Express statistics portal reveals that, in the ongoing Worlds 2023, the Blue team's win rate has already reached 80%, surpassing last year's 52.2%.

Notably, this isn't the first time the debate 'which side, Blue or Red, has the advantage' has been brought up on League of Legends forums. From 2021 until now, this issue has sparked intense debates at least three times. And the cause? Riot's own '200 years of experience.'
Specifically, the Blue side always has the upper hand in securing Baron and controlling the top half of the map. Early possession of the Herald makes early-game snowballing too easy. If a team faces adversity, a well-timed Herald or Baron buff can resolve almost any issue.

The Red team gains an advantage in controlling the Dragon pit. Despite the potent Dragon buffs, a team with an early Herald can use this advantage to launch an attack on the Dragon pit. Moreover, by securing just 1 - 2 Dragons, a team can easily overlook at least the next 2 Dragons to focus on dominating the lanes. For Dragon buffs, only the Elder Dragon holds value, while the Cloud Dragon has a limited duration, and previous Dragons only provide marginal stat boosts.

In the drafting phase, the Green team can have 3 picks that are both favorable and counter the Red team's 2 choices. This grants the Green team more options and makes it easier to 'read' the opponent's tactics.

According to the Express portal, Red teams win mostly due to their superior skills, as seen in matches like JDG - BDS and LNG - C9. These matchups illustrate that draft picks and in-game advantages are no longer significant issues when the skill gap is so substantial.
