Nestled between the borders of Son La and Dien Bien provinces, with majestic mountainous landscapes and dreamy flower gardens, Pha Din Pass beckons many travelers to check-in and live virtually.
The azure flower hill resembling European skies attracts young Vietnamese check-in enthusiasts at Pha Din Pass

Approximately 50 km from Sơn La city, Pha Din, stretching 32 km, is deemed one of the four spectacular 'grand mountain passes' (including O Quy Ho, Ma Pi Leng, Khau Pha, and Pha Din) of the Northwest mountains, luring numerous visitors. Pha Din in the Thai ethnic language means sky and earth, symbolizing its celestial connection. Photo: Diệp Nguyễn.

The perilous winding bends, captivatingly beautiful, and the serene scattered villages at the foothills have long entranced travelers stepping foot on Pha Din Pass. Yet, the flower garden atop the pass is a fresh, scarcely known check-in spot. Nowadays, the purple blooms are flaunting their brilliance in the garden, enticing many youths to come here for sightseeing and check-ins. Photo: Diệp Nguyễn, N.t.p.thuy.

Thu Phuong, a 90s-born from Hanoi, shares: “This destination lies on the main route to Điện Biên Phủ city (Điện Biên), making it fairly easy to travel to. The feeling of immersing in the scenery and relishing the fresh air, a rarity in the city, makes a lasting impression. I wish for a home to live here.” Photo: Hacass.2403.

Situated at an altitude of over 1,000 meters above sea level, the cool climate and weather conditions have created favorable conditions for many species of flowers to thrive and bloom. From mid-August to the end of September, the land on the summit of Pha Din Pass is in the most beautiful lavender season of the year. If you are a fan of purple flowers and virtual living, you should not miss this time. Photo: Diệp Nguyễn.

Covering an area of about 30 hectares, various flower species such as chamomile, buckwheat, mustard greens, French roses, cosmos, sunflowers... are also cultivated and cared for, bringing more virtual corners for tourists. The flower garden acts as a highlight, adding more colors to the picturesque mountainous landscape here. Photo: Diệp Nguyễn, Oohlameo.

The flower garden is also arranged with many different settings for tourists to comfortably choose frames according to their preferences. During holidays and Tet (Vietnamese New Year), this destination welcomes a large number of visitors. However, the underdeveloped accommodation services are a drawback of this virtual living space. Visitors from afar can only visit during the day as there are no overnight accommodations available. Photo: Diệp Nguyễn.

Reader Diệp Nguyễn (Sơn La) said: “At this time, the flower garden on the summit of Pha Din Pass is in the beautiful lavender season. However, the weather is sunny. If you come here, you can bring food from home to organize a barbecue party with family or friends.” Photo: Ngocc.thuongg, Diệp Nguyễn.
