Those who have visited Mộc Châu during the spring are seemingly awestruck by the beauty of the white plum blossoms and always cherish the traditional Tet atmosphere of the Mông people.
The White Plum Blossom Season in the Mông Village of Phiêng Cành

In the cold and brisk spring breeze of the highlands, the plum orchards of the Mông people burst into blossoms, captivating the feet of wandering travelers.
Travelers can explore places with characteristic flower orchards in Mộc Châu such as Phiêng Cành village, Nà Ka (Tân Lập commune), Áng village (Đông Sang commune), Vặt village (Mường Sang commune), and more.
White plum blossoms usually bloom beautifully in the last week of January and the first week of February, though it may vary slightly depending on the weather each year.

Bản Phiêng Cành and Nà Ka are still untouched havens of plum orchards, preserving the pristine beauty of Mộc Châu's land and people. The land and its inhabitants create a simple, serene beauty filled with the fragrance of white plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, and yellow mustard flowers.
Visiting Bản Phiêng Cành, travelers can glimpse walled houses with the ancient architecture of the Mông people, faintly appearing in the mist. In the distance, white plum blossoms blanket the hillsides, creating a soul-stirring scenery reminiscent of a fairyland.

Photographer Cao Kỳ Nhân (Phú Yên) reveals that white plum blossoms bloom vibrantly for about 7-10 days, withering quickly. Therefore, travelers should time their visit to catch the blossoms at their most beautiful. It's crucial to monitor the weather forecast because rainy days may not showcase the beauty as well as sunny days with a gentle east wind.
Currently, the plum orchards are starting to bud, delicate petals nestling amid the melodious chirping of birds in the plum orchard, undoubtedly captivating visitors and making them lost in admiration, forgetting the way back.
Travelers arriving in Mộc Châu at this time can partake in the traditional Tet celebration of the Mông people, typically occurring in the first 3 days of the twelfth lunar month.

Before and during this period, the Mông people fervently prepare for Tet; women diligently embroider new clothes, men purchase pigs and chickens for the Tet feast. Meanwhile, children don their most beautiful dresses, wandering and playing throughout the villages.
The festive atmosphere of the Mông people's Tet culture comes alive with the lively dance of umbrella twirls and the resonating tunes of the khen.
“I've visited Mộc Châu, and I'll forever cherish the warm and innocent moments of the children, recalling the season of white plum blossoms on the hillside. It makes me want to return to the picturesque land, sitting by the wine cup, enjoying the warmth of the Mông people, dispelling the cold in the highlands,” shared Mr. Nhân with us.

For adventure enthusiasts on motorcycles, traversing the roads of Mộc Châu is a suitable means to proactively stop by the roadside to admire the blossoms.
However, such a journey heavily depends on the weather, especially in January and February when Mộc Châu is quite chilly. During this time, temperatures drop, there is mist, and visibility is limited when driving. Travelers should wear warm layers to avoid the cold.
