Exploring Buddha Island while touring Diep Son Island

Local residents refer to this island as 'O Island', while it is labeled as 'Duc Island' on maps. It is one of the three small islands within the Diep Son archipelago, located in Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province. Compared to Diep Sơn, Buddha Island – Duc Island is a new, pristine attraction full of wonders.
From Nha Trang City, travelers can take National Highway 1 approximately 60km northwards to reach Van Gia town. From there, they can turn right for about 400m to reach the pier area, where various vessels await to transport visitors to the island.
Visitors have the option to travel by canoe, which takes 10-15 minutes, or by wooden boat, which takes 30-45 minutes to reach the island.
Unveiling the Charm of Diep Son Island
Mr. Trinh Minh Dai Anh, an eco-tourism entrepreneur from Saigon, reminisces about the island's past, where shores were once littered with sea debris, boats struggled to dock due to the absence of a port, and wild cacti enveloped the island... However, the island has now been cleansed and revitalized.
“But the most alluring feature of this island is its sandbar, a natural causeway formed by shifting sands bridging Middle Island and Duc Island. During low tide, visitors will witness the marvels of nature,” Mr. Anh remarked.
Indeed, those who visit the island in the early hours will be treated to a breathtaking sunrise. As the tide recedes, it reveals a smooth stretch of fine white sand, approximately 300m long, connecting the two small islands. From here, visitors can stroll or sit on the sand and admire the sunrise over the sea.
For those who enjoy panoramic views of the ocean, they can follow the trail to the mountain peak and be astonished to see soft sand dunes resembling silk ribbons amidst the surrounding sea.
Visitors can also indulge in swimming, snorkeling to observe the coral reefs around the island. Apart from the colorful layers of dreamy algae, the island's shores host two types of seaweed, nori and kelp, renowned culinary specialties of the coastal region and undoubtedly, an experience not to be missed by any epicurean...
