The Witcher season 3 is set to premiere on Netflix this summer.
Recently, Netflix dropped the inaugural official teaser for season 3 of the hit series The Witcher. This marks actor Henry Cavill's final season portraying Geralt of Rivia before handing over the steel-and-silver swords to Liam Hemsworth for the subsequent season.
Based on Northern European folklore, the Wild Hunt was first mentioned in Andrzej Sapkowski's second book - The Sword of Destiny, and serves as the primary antagonist in CD Projekt RED's third game - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In Netflix's TV adaptation, the Wild Hunt made its official debut in the final segment of the second season. They pursue Ciri due to her ancient lineage - a power that can effortlessly manipulate space and time.
To shield Ciri from political forces, deceitful mages, and terrifying creatures across the Continent, Geralt and Yennefer opt to take her to the Aretuza School of Magic, glimpsed in the teaser. However, with the production team hinting at numerous new elements, Season 3 of The Witcher is poised to continue its imaginative departure from the original novels.
In the original story, to shield Ciri from political machinations, deceitful sorcerers, and terrifying creatures across the Continent, Geralt and Yennefer resolved to escort the young girl to the Aretuza School of Magic, where a glimmer of hope shines in the teaser above. However, with the production team confirming a plethora of new elements to be introduced in their series, it's highly likely that Season 3 of The Witcher will continue to diverge creatively from its original novels.

As previously mentioned, Henry Cavill will indeed continue to portray Geralt in the upcoming season. Joining him will be familiar faces such as Anya Chalotra (Yennefer), Freya Allan (Ciri), Joey Batey (Jaskier), and a few other cast members.
The Witcher Season 3 will be split into two parts, with the first part (episodes 1 to 5) premiering on June 29th, and the second part (episodes 6 to 8) set to debut approximately one month later, on July 27th.
