Changes in the new ARAM map are sparking heated discussions in the League of Legends community.
Among the game modes alongside Summoner's Rift, such as Teamfight Tactics, URF, or ARAM, the latter two have become staples in the League of Legends world.

However, in the new season, Riot has introduced significant changes to the ARAM mode. Specifically, players can now use Technology Gates similar to those in Summoner's Rift when activating the second Soul Dragon. Additionally, Riot has added more bushes for players to hide in. Moreover, when a turret is destroyed, it creates a barrier that narrows the path, leaving only a small gap.

Yet, these changes are sparking controversy. Some argue that Riot is repeating similar mistakes with the Technology Dragon as they did with the Elemental Dragon when it was first introduced in early 2022. If one team has an advantage over the other, narrowing the terrain will make that team more proactive in preparing for combat. Moreover, the already small ARAM map will be even more restricted, creating more 'death corners' that make the losing team feel constantly pressured.

Many gamers may still remember that defeating the Elemental Dragon resulted in more bushes appearing on the map and granted the team possessing the Elemental Dragon Soul with a resurrection effect. Due to this imbalance, Riot had to promptly remove the Elemental Dragon to rework it from scratch. Now, the ARAM map introduces new elements that evoke memories of the power of the Elemental Dragon in the past.

However, there are quite a few opinions expressing interest in the new changes to the ARAM map for the 2023 season. Nevertheless, if any elements become unbalanced, Riot will intervene immediately, as they did with the Elemental Dragon in the past.
