The GPD P2 Max, an 8.9-inch mini laptop, was introduced in 2019 with an Intel Core m3-8100Y Amber Lake processor, 16 GB RAM, and 256 GB NVMe storage. Now, GPD has announced the upcoming launch of a new model with performance improvements and a lower price.
On the product introduction page, the GPD P2 Max 2022 is presented with compact dimensions of only 206 mm × 148 mm × 18 mm. The thinnest part of the body is only 5.5 mm, equivalent to the size of the iPad mini 4 but with better performance than the MacBook.
The weight of GPD P2 Max 2022 is 650 grams, just half the weight of an Ultrabook. GPD P2 Max 2022 features a 2.5K touchscreen display with 10-point touch support, IPS technology, sRGB 100% color gamut coverage, and a wide 178-degree viewing angle, with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.
The improvement for the 2022 version compared to 2019 lies in the Intel Pentium Silver N6000 11th generation processor, manufactured on a new 10nm process technology, featuring a dual-core four-thread design, with 4MB L3 cache. The device also integrates up to 1TB NVMe SSD.
