Huynh Thanh Y, uplifted to fame overnight by Chau Tinh Tri in the blockbuster Kung Fu Masterpiece, faced the loss of her actress reputation due to disputes with the company.
On June 15th, Sohu reported on their social media page that Huynh Thanh Y's husband, businessman and artist Duong Tu, shared an interview about their challenging times confronting Chau Tinh Tri's company.
In 2004, Huynh Thanh Y starred in Chau Tinh Tri's film Kung Fu Masterpiece as A Phuong, a mute ice cream vendor. This role propelled her to overnight stardom, but soon after, she sued Chau Tinh Tri's Tinh Huy management company on five charges.

However, Tinh Huy Company denies the allegations, stating that there are no restrictions on Huynh Thanh Y's activities. They counterclaim that Huynh Thanh Y took on external jobs without the company's approval.
Duong Tu revealed a three-year legal battle between both parties. At that time, Huynh Thanh Y was just starting her career but faced accusations of betrayal and ingratitude towards her supportive benefactor. Continuous media criticism led to her loss of reputation and unemployment.
During that period, Duong Tu and Huynh Thanh Y just got to know each other. Duong Tu had to leverage personal connections to find work for Huynh Thanh Y. He became the guarantor for the actress, stating that if her efforts did not yield results, he would suffer significant losses.
After 3 years of legal battles, Huynh Thanh Y and Chau Tinh Tri's company decided to reconcile. However, at this point, the actress couple had only 30,000 CNY (approximately 4,100 USD) left in their account. Huynh Thanh Y broke down, crying uncontrollably as she faced an uncertain future.

However, according to Duong Tu, the working culture in the Hong Kong and Mainland entertainment industries differs, leading to conflicts between the two.
After Kung Fu Masterpiece, Huynh Thanh Y participated in many films but did not achieve the same level of fame as when under Chau Tinh Tri's guidance. Nevertheless, the actress enjoys a prosperous life with businessman Duong Tu. Currently, besides acting, the couple engages in online livestream sales. Huynh Thanh Y often showcases their spacious villa, showcasing a luxurious lifestyle to the public.
