All in the Family Film Crew

Family Comes Together in Thor: Love and Thunder
Not only Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, and Natalie Portman take on lead roles, but their families also make appearances in Thor: Love and Thunder. Chris Hemsworth's son, Tristan, portrays a young Thor while his twin sister, Sasha, plays a young Asgardian girl captured by Gorr.
The Return of Familiar Faces

Besides Jane Foster, other characters closely associated with the female doctor make a comeback, including Darcy (Kat Dennings) and Dr. Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard). Earlier this year, Darcy appeared in WandaVision as an agent of S.W.O.R.D. Sif (Jaimie Alexander) makes a return after disappearing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since Thor: The Dark World (2013).
Additionally, the 'Asgardian theater troupe' led by Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth - Chris's older brother - and Sam Neill also return. This time, they are joined by Melissa McCarthy, portraying Hela as they reenact events from Thor: Ragnarok (2017).

The Majestic City of Omnipotence

Omnipotence makes its appearance in Thor: God of Thunder #3 (2012). The city was erected after the first great war among the gods and became a venue for major events, trials, and reconciliations of the divine. The MCU's rendition of Omnipotence closely resembles the design by artist Esad Ribic.
Here, fans can spot Ra – the Egyptian god recently mentioned in Moon Knight, Bast – Wakanda's guardian deity and Black Panther, Artemis… Additionally, Hercules (Brett Goldstein) appears in the after-credits scene, paving the way for Thor 5. In the comics, Hercules was once a member of the Avengers.
The Origin of the Cosmic Entity Eternity

In the film, Gorr seeks to steal Stormbreaker to open a gateway to meet the cosmic entity known as Eternity. In Marvel comics, Eternity first appears in Strange Tales #138 (1965) and is one of the mighty beings under the jurisdiction of the Living Tribunal. The other three entities are Infinity, Death, and Entropy. This quartet was depicted on the mural housing the Power Stone in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
Cosmic Entities Featured in the Film

In the hallway leading to Eternity's residence lie numerous statues of cosmic entities. These include Arishem – the Celestial seen in Eternals (2021), The Watcher from the What If…? animated series (2022), The Living Tribunal, Death…
The Wolf-Man's Debut in the MCU

While Thor rescues the Asgardian children, one child claims to belong to the Lycan tribe, or werewolves. This detail sets the stage for this lineage to enter the MCU through the Halloween Special series, with Gael García Bernal portraying Werewolf by Night.
The Eternal Realm of Norse Gods

After sacrificing herself to defeat Gorr, Jane Foster is welcomed as a deity in Valhalla. In Norse mythology, this is the Eternal Realm where gods and warriors rest after valiant battles. This is also the MCU's third afterlife, following Wakanda's Astral Plane in Black Panther (2018) and Egypt's Field of Reeds in Moon Knight.
Is Thor: Love and Thunder a Satisfying Conclusion for Thor?

After the events in Avengers: Endgame (2019), Thor stands as the sole superhero from the original Avengers team to receive a fourth standalone film. The movie serves as a complete conclusion to Thor's journey, allowing him to let go of all past pain and regrets. From a proud warrior to a superhero and protector of the Nine Realms, Thor has endured numerous hardships such as the loss of loved ones, his people, and his homeland.
In the end, he must depart to rediscover himself. Thor: Love and Thunder helps Thor address one of the biggest regrets of his life - his relationship with Jane Foster. Her return helps Thor realize the true purpose of life and continues to open his heart in the journey of protecting the vulnerable. Additionally, the film sets the stage for a new future for this deity with many adventures and new adversaries.
Thor: Love and Thunder (Thor: Love and Thunder) is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
